چکیده

Abstract Background: Sometimes seen distal to humerus foramen supratrochleare and supracondylar process are rare variations. Supracondylar is a variations observed on the side of humerus. The variant located 1/3 supratrochlear may appear between coronoid fossa olecra-non fossa. Since in semi-transparent form, it be misdiagnosed as an osteolytic lesion. aim present study was identify prevalence morphology inTurkish population . Furthermore, we believe considering these by looking at this variation previously taken radiological images people, help identification that person any forensic case.Materials Methods: conducted 460 samples (237 right; 223 left) with unclear age gender Anatomy Laboratories Necmettin Erbakan Meram, KTO Karatay, Yozgat Bozok, Kayseri Erciyes Faculties Medicine. Morphometric measurements such formations were performed through digital calliper osteometric board. along typing, also detected. Results: In study, detected 11 (2.4%) individuals (4 7 left); however, not 449 (97.6%) samples. 63 (13.7%) humeri. 10.8% right 16.5% (29) left both 0.7% (3). average lengths 9.47±1.94 mm 16.24±14.06 mm, respectively. verti-cal diameter 3.45±1.07 foramen, 3.57±1.17 foramen; mean transverse 4.73±2.81 detect-ed 4.41± 2.49 left. Conclusions: higher side; howev-er, side. We data obtained would helpful for orthopaedic surgeon during intramedullary nailing, differential diagnosis some lessons radiologist. addition, can important indicator differentiation different races.Key Words: Humerus, process, Supratrochlear Morphometry, Variation

Morphometric Analysis of Supratrochlear Foramen of Humerus in South Indian Population

Olecranon and coronoid fossae of lower end of humerus separated by thin plate of bony septum (0.5 to 1 mm thickness). Sometimes the bony septum may shows perforated clear foramen is referred as Supratrochlear foramen (STF). STF is always associated with narrow medullary canal, in that case it is not easy to perform intramedullary fixation of the humerus in traumatic injuries and pathologic frac...

Investigating the supratrochlear foramen and septum in adult humerus bones: brief report

Background: The supratrochlear foramen (STF) is an important and relatively common anatomic variation in the lower end of the humerus in humans. In recent years it has become clear that STF should be emphasized because anatomical knowledge of STF is useful for anatomists, anthropologists, orthopedic surgeons, and radiologists. The anatomical structure of the humerus may play an important role i...

Supracondylar process of the humerus.

Four cases of supracondylar process of the humerus in three patients are presented. The main features of a supracondylar process as compared with an osteochondroma are reviewed. The three patients had pain and one had signs indicating median nerve compression. One had a supracondylar process together with an osteochondroma in the contralateral supracondylar region. One patient with a bilateral ...

Anatomical note of supratrochlear foramen of humerus in south costal population of Andhra Pradesh

Background: Supratrochlear foramen (STF) in adult humerus is formed by perforation of thin bony septum present between olecranon fossa and coronoid fossa, which is found proximal to trochlea of humerus. Presence of this foramen is clinically important during preoperative planning for intramedullary nailing in the treatment of supracondylar fractures of distal humerus. Methods: The study was con...
